2012 Highlights

2012 was essentially a year of drawing lessons and disseminating the results of the first ten years of existence of ICLS:

  1. A  ten year evaluation of ICLS activities in Bradford was carried out, and presented at the House of Lords on 19 June 2012.
  2. Three seminars took place in Bradford with the supportof the local City Council; they were run  in cooperation with The Intercivil Society,  involving senior police officers and civil servants, and represented an exemple of how ICLS methodology could be applied to other contexts than young prospective leaders
  3. Cooperation continued between the ICLS and the Platform for Intercultural Europe (PIE), with the ICLS Secretary General  as a member of PIE’s Board: in particolar, the ICLS was one of the case Studies presented in Belfast at the Platform’s Practice Exchange
  4. ICLS became a member of the Italian Chapter of the European Movement (CIME) , and moved its office in Rome to Piazza della Libertà, 13
  5. New contacts were established in Lyon, with a view to organizing a further two seminars in that city in cooperation with Espace Projets Interassociatifs (EPI), a long standing partner of the ICLS. One of the seminars to be organized in Lyon will call upon ICLS alumni from previous Lyon sessions to be the speakers
  6. ICLS also became a member of the EYCA 2013, the Civil Society alliance contributing to events and activities in the frame work of the 2013 European Year, dedicated to Citizens.
